LibGuides 2: Getting Started: LibApps Dashboard

This guide will help those new to LibGuides 2 get started with navigating around the new system and creating guides.


One of the major differences between LG1 and LG2 is that Springshare created LibApps dashboard for you to access all their products in one place: LibGuides, LibAnswers, LibAnalytics, etc.

Log in

Log in to, enter your email and password on the LibApps Login screen.  If you don't remember the password, click Reset Password.

Your password

When you log in you will arrive at the LibApps Dashboard.
Click My Account in the orange command bar

Change your password

  1. Click in the box to the right of the Password label.
  2. Type in your new password. Password must be a minimum of 8 characters and contain at least one number or symbol.
  3. You'll be asked to retype your password.
    • If they do not match, you'll get a message stating they did not match and you will be able to type in your password again to confirm.
  4. You'll be asked to type your current LibApps account password. Click Save.

Reset your password

  1. Go to the login screen.
  2. Enter your email address and click Reset Password.
  3. You'll receive an email with a link to reset your password.

Your profile

Set up your Profile Box

Title and Image
Click on the dashed line to the right of the Box Title label -- the dashed line will change to a box, type your desired title in the box, and click the blue check mark to save.
Choose your current profile image (the one in LibGuides 1) or upload a new profile image by selecting the radio button accordingly.

Contact Info
Click on the dashed line to the right of the label (e.g. phone, email address, etc.), type the correct info, click the blue check mark to save.

Social Media
Social media links are optional.  Links to various social media links of the CofC Libraries are listed under the tab CofC LibGuides Convention if you need them.

LibChat widget code: click on the dashed line (marked Empty), copy the following code to the right of the LibAnswers & LibChat Widget Code label, and click on the blue check button to save.
