NBC Learn

NBC Learn is a collection of over 14,000 standards-aligned resources designed for use in the classroom. Through our membership in the Colonial Academic Alliance, the College now has access to an educational database with videos spanning numerous disciplines. Faculty can incorporate video and others forms of non-fiction, informational text to introduce or emphasize specific topics, stimulate critical thinking and debate, and enliven instructional material with over 15,000 multimedia resources spanning 80 years of television.

NBC Learn Higher Ed features robust searching, browsing and filtering tools to aid research and inquiry-based discovery. With individual accounts, faculty, students, and staff will have complete access to our resources, 24x7, from school and from home.  One can create play lists, copy URLs and even download and play videos from the desktop using a player.

This set of resources will enable users to provide a contextual historical perspective along with timely aspects that bring the real world to the classroom and the students to the world. In addition to daily current events, the website features content tied to over 40 concentrations, as well as original series such as the “Science of NFL Football”, “Science of Golf” and “Science and Engineering of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.”
