Marine Biology: Places to Study

This guide includes selected print and electronic books, journals, and databases as well as web resources in the field of marine biology.

Addlestone Library

In Addlestone Library, the open areas on the 2nd and 3rd floors are available for silent study. Students may talk quietly and collaborate on the 1st floor and in study rooms throughout the building.  Study rooms for 3 or more students may be reserved through the library web site. Please be sure to check your email and confirm your reservation within 30 minutes of requesting the room. In addition, Room 360 on the 3rd floor has whiteboards and multimedia capability and is available for all students without a reservation.

North Campus

The College of Charleston North Campus is conveniently located in North Charleston at 3800 Paramount Drive, 29405. Equipped with modern classrooms, three computer labs, a library, a food POD (Provisions on Demand) and study space, the North Campus brings many of the College’s offerings to both working adults and traditional students throughout the tri-county region.

24 Hour Education Center Study Lounge

For night owls, the 24 Hour Study Lounge in the Education Center Atrium is equipped with study tables, lounge chairs, desk top computers and wifi. This lounge space is monitored by our Public Safety during the academic year from 10pm until 6am.

Marine Resources Library

The Marine Resources Library located on James Island at the Ft. Johnson campus provides quiet study space with a connection to the eduroam wireless network. The library is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.  Individual study space is available on a first come, first served basis.  Group study space is available in the class/meeting room when it is not booked. Booking is advisable.
