How to Request Books Via PASCAL

Before requesting books through interlibrary loan, make sure it is not available through PASCAL. Borrowing books through PASCAL is usually quicker than through interlibrary loan. Remember, PASCAL is for books only!

Flow Chart

  1. Make sure we don't have the book at the library (physically or electronically) by searching CofC Libraries' holdings with our Discovery Service (pascal-cofc.library.cofc.edu). If the book shows as "Available" in either the catalog or Discovery Service, it will not let you request it through PASCAL.

  2. Search for the book using this Discovery Service link which brings you directly to a search limited only to PASCAL items, and request the book from the record page. .
  3. Once your book arrives and is ready for pickup you will receive an email at the address from your circulation account. You can always check on the progress of a request by logging in to My Library Account
