Associate Dean of Access, Instruction, and Assessment for College of Charleston Libraries
I work closely with colleagues in the Library and in the wider College community to develop and support an overall vision for academic library services that supports the College's strategic plan. I am responsible for overseeing access to and instruction in the use of library materials for the academic community, which includes the Access Services and Research & Instruction Services units in Addlestone Library as well as access and instruction services throughout the Libraries. Together these units comprise a permanent full-time staff of 20 people. I provide strategic leadership in planning and implementing innovative library services, foster information literacy within the College via an active instruction program, serve as the library’s Assessment Officer, supervise department head and coordinator positions within the unit, lead cross-departmental strategic and operational initiatives, and chair Library-wide committees.
Current research interests include scaffolding information literacy instruction throughout the curriculum, providing research and computing services to diverse user communities, and practical assessment of library resources and services.
