The New Play Exchange, a National New Play Network project, is the world’s largest digital library of scripts by living writers. Designed and built with the needs of the entire new play sector in mind, the New Play Exchange serves writers, producers, directors, artistic directors, literary managers, dramaturgs, publishers, agents, actors, professors, students, and even fans of the theater.
Over 90% of the works on New Play Exchange are available for immediate download, but in some instances, the "Inquire About Rights" link on a play's landing page or the "Contact" link on the author's landing page provide direct outreach via the platform to the author or their representation should a play not be available for immediate download. Further, the College of Charleston's higher education subscription does not support Reading Lists. An individual Reader or Writer subscription is needed for this functionality.
