About the project
Attempting to shed light on the experiences of South Carolina's understudied LGBTQ population, this project involves collecting, organizing, cataloging, storing, and analyzing oral histories and related archival materials in South Carolina. For more information, visit the project's website at http://speccoll.cofc.edu/lgbtq.
LGBTQ Oral History: View the Collection
These oral histories, a part of the SC LGBTQ: Oral Histories, Archives, and Outreach Project, are narratives of mostly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) people in South Carolina. The oral histories are archived in Special Collections at the College of Charleston’s Addlestone Library and are part of the SC LGBTQ’s mission to also collect and make accessible archival collections that document the LGBTQ experience in the Lowcountry and beyond.

This guide acts as a supplement to the archival materials and oral histories collected by the project. It provides context to the project materials by gathering secondary sources relating to LGBTQ lives and history throughout the South. Below is a table of contents for the Guide.
