Lost and Found

The Circulation Desk is home to the library’s Lost and Found. Anything lost in Addlestone Library may be turned in here.

For inquiries about missing items, visit the Circulation Desk or inquire by phone at 843-953-8001.

Misplaced items (such as backpacks, books, calculators, cameras, cash, cellphones, clothing, computers, glasses, hats, IDs, iPods, jewelry, keys, legal documents, purses, skateboards, umbrellas, wallets, and watches) are also regularly turned in to the College of Charleston Lost and Found, which is maintained by the Department of Public Safety.  Items received are reviewed to determine ownership and one of our officers will always, if possible, contact the owner(s) via phone or their campus email accounts.  The vast majority of non-perishable items are kept for ninety days before being submitted to the State of South Carolina for disposal.

Anyone desiring to check if their missing item(s) have been turned in should contact Public Safety at 843-953-4980.

The College of Charleston does not offer claim rights to persons turning in lost property.

General Parking Information

Between the hours of 6:00pm and 7:00am on weekdays and weekends, when space is available, visitors may park in the AD lot. The AD lot is next to the Library with entrance from Pitt St.

Parking in downtown Charleston is limited, and the best option is in one of four nearby parking garages (campus parking map):

St. Phillip Garage "PG"at 81 St. Philip Street (next to the Bell Building, 2 blocks from the Addlestone Library). Due to the close proximity to the Library, this garage is the best option. If exiting from the rear of the garage to Coming Street the distance is only half a block away.

George Street Garage "GG", entrance located on St. Philip St. between George St. and Liberty St. (2.5 blocks from Addlestone Library).

Wentworth Street Garage "WG", located at the intersection of Wentworth and St. Philip Streets (4 blocks fromt the Addlestone Library).

Francis Marion Garage on King Street next to the Westin Francis Marion Hotel (3 blocks from the Addlestone Library).

The GL lot behind the Sottile Theatre also has limited free parking between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00am on weekdays and weekends.

A permit is required 24/7 in all College of Charleston lots. We do not recommend parking in any other College of Charleston lot; you may be ticketed.
