Anyone who writes and researches in the academic environment must be able to use the citation style for that particular discipline. This guide will give basic information of how and why various citation styles are used.

Capture Reference

Within EndNote Basic, go to Options/Download Installers/Capture Reference to add the "Capture Reference" button to your browser toolbar.

Then, as you are searching for references, click the "Capture Reference" button to import directly to EndNote Basic.

Getting Started

After logging into EndNote Basic, select "Show Getting Started Guide" in the My References tab.

Export references from Ebsco databases to EndNote

When you put items in the "Folder," look for the "Export" option on the right side of the screen under tools. Then, select "Direct Export to EndNote Web" and click "Save."

Use the "Cite While You Write" plug-in to insert references, and format citations and bibliographies automatically while you write your papers in Word. This plug-in also allows you to save online references to your library in Internet Explorer for Windows.
