CofC Libraries Instruction Program: ENGL 110/ FYE/ LC

CofC Librarians and Archivists are available to provide both scheduled and point of need instruction to ensure users have access to regular and timely instruction in the use of library and other learning/information resources.

College of Charleston Research & Instruction Librarians are assigned to all ENGL 110 and First-Year Experience (FYE) courses and Learning Communities.  Each semester, the Research & Instruction Department Instruction Coordinator works with the Coordinators of First-Year Experience and First-Year Writing to arrange the assignment of librarians to each class. The assigned librarians communicate with the instructing faculty member in order to tailor library research instruction to each individual course. Among other services, librarians may have a presence in OAKS, provide an in-person library session, or arrange to meet with students in more informal or ad hoc ways depending on faculty and student needs.
