Room 127 is designated primarily for Library Instructional Activities. Students may use the room as open study space when it is not in use.

Hardware and Software

Software and Hardware

  • The Teacher's Station is running Windows 10 and has Office installed.
  • A College of Charleston username and password is required to login to the computer.
  • Teacher station includes:
    • Crestron Control Panel
    • Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
      1. make sure that the wireless mouse is powered "ON." Look on the bottom of the mouse and click the round power button.
      2. make sure that the wireless keyboard is turned "ON." Look on the top right of the keyboard for the power switch.
  • Teacher station can print to Student Computing Lab printers.

Using your Personal Laptop or Mobile Device

  • A VGA cable is provided
  • Mac Users, we do not have video adaptors on hand, please make sure to bring your video adapter.
  • Student, Faculty, and Staff can connect to the eduroam wireless network using their full college email address and their MyCharleston password.  If you are having trouble connecting, you can visit the Access and Instruction desk for assistance.
  • Guests can connect to the guest wireless network (cofc-guest) within the Library. Open a web browser and go to http://wireless.cofc.edu/ to configure your laptop for the guest network.
  • How to Wirelessly Connect to the Projector Using Apple TV (GoogleDoc)
    • Please note: Projecting Android Devices Using Apple TV is NOT supported

Playing Presentations, Video or Audio Files on the Teacher's Station

  • VLC Media Player is installed on the Teacher's Station and will play most audio/video file types.  If you are planning on playing a video file on the Teacher's Station the best file formats are MP4 (Mac Users) or AVI (PC Users).
  • Keynote Users (Mac) If you are using Keynote on a Mac, please export your slides to PowerPoint (.ppt).  Keynote is not installed on the Teacher's station computer.

Library Instruction Classroom 127

The Library Instruction Classroom (Room 127) is located on the first floor of the Addlestone Library. It contains an instructor's workstation and ceiling mount projector. This room may only be reserved by Addlestone Library staff. The schedule for the room is posted outside the door and available to staff at the Access & Instruction Desk. When not in use by the library, this classroom functions as an extension of the adjacent student computing lab and students may use the room as open study space when it is not in use.

If assistance is needed with any of the equipment in the room, make sure to submit your request 24 hours prior to the requesting time/date to the Library Support Ticket System. For more information please visit the Addlestone Library Spaces Policy (PDF)

Requesting Assistance

Please submit all internal Library requests for webinar/meeting setups, library technology room setups, and presentation/presenter assistance to the Library Support Ticket System at least 24 hours prior to the requesting time/date.   Please note that the requests can only be submitted from campus at this time. Submitting your requests using the Library Support Ticket System will allow us to coordinate our schedules and provide the best service possible between 8 am and 4 pm, Mon - Fri. When submitting a ticket please make sure to include all relevant information.  

Webinar or meeting please include:

  1. Room location
  2. Date/Time (and Time Zone)
  3. Webinar Title
  4. Name and Email Registered with Webinar
  5. Webinar URL
  6. Webinar join password
  7. Is a phone line required?
  8. Is Skype required?

Presenter assistance please include:

  1. Room location
  2. Date
  3. Talk Title/Affiliation
  4. Presenter Needs 
  5. Contact Information for the Presenter (email and phone)
  6. Setup/Dry Run Time
  7. Time of Talk

After Hours Support

  • The library staff member responsible for scheduling the room is welcome but not required to submit a support ticket to have the room set up and equipment checked before an after hours event.
  • The technology team is available between 8am and 4pm.  
  • The technology team will check the equipment in cases where a request is made.  This doesn’t guarantee that the equipment will work at the time of the afterhours event.
  • If there is a technology issue after hours, please call the IT Service Desk 953-3375 for after hours support.  The IT Service Desk should have trained staff on hand until 10pm and on weekends to assist with technology issues as they relate to classrooms and presentations.
