Whether you need to meet with a student virtually or schedule a meeting with someone off campus, using Skype of Business is the preferred and easy way to make these meetings a reality. Follow the instructions below to schedule using Skype for Business.
Please note that the Skypee must use either a laptop or desktop computer. The Skype for Business App does not work on phones, I-Pads, I-Pods, and etc.
1. Open your Outlook Calendar and find the link/ icon that reads "New Skype Meeting" in the "Home" tab - if this is not currently on your menu, contact Matt Branton so it can be updated.
2. Once you initiate a New Skype Meeting, it brings up a meeting request form that looks like a regular meeting request except that it has the link for joining this Skype meeting, as shown below.
3. If you use a computer other than your own, be sure to remove your cached credentials.
The following additional instructions are an example of what can be provided to participants on how they will connect:
On the day of [the meeting/ interview/ consultation/ etc.], click on the “Join Skype Meeting” link below. It gives you the choice on how you can join, and if you don’t have Skype for Business, you will want to choose “Install and join with Skype Meeting App (web).” Once this app is installed, you will enter your name and should be connected to the meeting. If you are not automatically connected, you can come back to this email and re-click the “Join Skype Meeting” link to be connected.
Depending on how fast your computer is, you may want to download the app in advance. You can do so by clicking “Try Skype Web App” below the “Join Skype Meeting” link.
NOTE: The Skype of Business App does not work on phones, I-Pads, I-Pods, and etc. The individual you plan to Skype with must have a laptop or desktop computer.
