Addlestone Library is open to the College of Charleston community and affiliates via card access. Visitors may access Addlestone Library Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and must present a government issued ID and sign in upon entry.

Study Rooms

There are 18 study rooms on the second and third floor of Addlestone Library, along the Calhoun Street side. These rooms are for the exclusive use of CofC students. Each study room contains:

  • Table and 4-6 chairs
  • Dry erase board
  • Outlets

Study rooms can be reserved through the library website.

Graduate Study Room

Addlestone Room 326 is the Graduate Study Room. It is located on the 3rd floor of the library, on the Calhoun Street side of the building. 

  • The Graduate Study Room is for use by CofC graduate students only.
  • The room is accessed via a keypad using a code. The Graduate School Office is responsible for distributing the code to CofC graduate students and for working with us to ensure that the room is used responsibly. 
  • Graduate students from other institutions do not have access to this room but may use the tables or carrels in the open areas of the library to study.

Room 236

Room 236, located on the second floor, contains a small conference table and seating for about 8 people. The room contains a desktop computer with enabled microphone and speakers that can be used with the Glean audio notetaking app (contact the SNAP office for information about accessing Glean). 

Faculty Use

Room 236 can be reserved by faculty on weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm.

Room 236 can be reserved by students after 5 on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Silent Study Room 331

Room 331, located on the third floor of Addlestone Library on the Rivers Green side, contains tables and study carrels. It is open to all library patrons for silent study only.
