The One Button Studio is open during Circulation Library Hours of Operation. 

Click to Reserve the Studio

The One Button Studio may be reserved for up to 2 hours per day and a total of 14 hours per week. Once a reservation is made, the student (or faculty/staff member) will receive an email to confirm the reservation. The student (or faculty/staff member) must confirm the reservation within 30
minutes of receiving the email to complete the reservation process. The Access & Instruction Desk controls access to the One Button Studio at the time
of reservation.

Decorative ButtonWhat is it? How does it work?

The One Button Studio (OBS) is a simple, easy to use video recording lab located at Addlestone Library, Room 136, adjacent to the Access & Instruction Desk. The Studio is  equipped with lights, audio, and cameras and can be used by College of Charleston students, faculty, and staff to practice and record presentations without video production experience. 

The One Button Studio can also be reserved for podcasting and audio recording. A Blue Yeti USB microphone is available for checkout at the Access & Instruction Desk and GarageBand and Audacity audio editing software is available on the Mac computer designated for podcasting.

Some types of video projects work well in the One Button Studio.  When building assignments or planning a recording session consider some of these ideas:

       or research exhibitions.

Quick Start Guide

Decorative BulletReserve Studio Online

  • Reservations can be made online or via mobile phone by visiting, navigating to the "Services" tab and clicking One Button Studio Reservations.
  • Only CofC students, faculty, and staff with a valid or email address are allowed to make reservations.
  • Once a reservation is made, you will receive an email to confirm the reservation. You must confirm the reservation within 30 minutes of receiving the email to complete the reservation process. You may use your confirmation email to verify your reservation in the event that two groups claim to have a reservation for the same time.
  • Reservations may be made up to 60 days in advance.
  • Each student, faculty, or staff member can make two, one hour reservations per day, up to 3 times per week.

  • Visit the first floor Addlestone Access & Instruction Desk to verify your reservation, check out presentation remote, USB flash drive and obtain access to the One Button Studio (requires valid College of Charleston ID).
  • You may also use your own flash drive.
  • USB drives are also available for purchase from the vending machine on the Library's first floor.

Record Your Video Make sure you have enough space on your flash drive—a 1GB flash drive will record approximately 25 minutes Insert your USB drive into the dock to activate the Studio camera and lighting Press the large silver button to start/stop recording When finished recording, remove your USB drive to deactivate the studio camera and lights Use the workstation PC to move your recordings to your personal USB drive or cloud storage (optional)

Make sure to visit the Production Lounge!

The Production Lounge is a suite of 5 Mac computers that may be reserved by College of Charleston students, faculty and staff for digital scholarship and multimedia curricular activities (photo editing, audio editing, and video production). The Production Lounge provides access to Adobe Creative Suite and computers in the Production Lounge may be reserved for up to 5 hours per day and a total of 10 hours per week.
